CEVO has partnered with MSI to host the online qualifiers for ESWC Montreal alongside a concurrent qualifier for the iBUYPOWER Invitational: Summer 2015.
CEVO have partnered with MSI to host three weekends of online tournaments which will be called the MSI ESWC USA Online Qualifier + the MSI x iBUYPOWER Summer CS:GO Qualifier series.
Each weekend will offer 25 points, and the team which finishes with the most points at the end will automatically qualify for the iBUYPOWER Summer Invitational, about which more information is still forthcoming but which promises to feature North America's top teams.
The first weekend (May 30-31) will also double as the American qualifier for ESWC Montreal, which will take place on July 9-12 and offer $75,000 for grabs to an international spread of teams. Winners of this qualifier will have their travel and accomodation to Montreal paid for in full.
CEVO will host the American qualifier for ESWC Montreal
The first qualifier's registration is currently open and the qualifier will first see a preliminary qualifier bracket with 128 teams on May 30th. The top 8 teams from this bracket will advance to the Championship qualifier bracket on May 31st, where they will face 8 invited teams.
All three qualifiers will follow a general pattern in terms of prizes:
* The ESWC 2015 invitation will be awarded to the top team from Qualifier #1 that has at least 3 players hailing from the USA.
The three teams with the most points at the end of the three weekends will also be rewarded with cash prizes:
Qualifiers for a Canadian team for ESWC 2015 will be handled by Mondial des Jeux via a separate tournament. As for the iBUYPOWER Invitational, the last one in spring saw CLG win with a score of 2-0 over Liquid, taking home $4,000.
