AVANGAR have been invited to attend the upcoming DreamHack Open event in Rio de Janeiro, the event's organisers have announced.
The Kazakhstani side bring the team count to four, joining the Brazilian trio of FURIA, Sharks and Luminosity, who were all previously invited by DreamHack.
Currently ranked 13th in the world, AVANGAR were recently in action at the IEM Katowice Major, where they came through the New Challengers Stage with just one defeat to their name before being eliminated in the New Legends Stage with a 2-3 record.
Since returning from Katowice, AVANGAR have been fielding Sanjar "SANJI" Kuliev as a stand-in for Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov, but, according to DreamHack, the team will be attending the event in Rio with the former Gambit member, who was signed in August as a replacement for Dmitry "dimasick" Matvienko.
DreamHack Open Rio will take place at the Barra Olympic Park from April 19-21 and will have $100,000 in prize money. There are now just two invites left to reveal, with the final two spots going to the winners of the online qualifiers that will be held across the Americas.
